This support group is open to anyone parenting a highly sensitive child of any age. Moms and dads join together to find connection and share experiences of parenting kids who are more sensitive and reactive to the world than neurotypical children.

Topics can include:

  • Managing behaviors of highly sensitive kids

  • Support and advocacy strategies for highly sensitive kids in school

  • Discipline and consequence strategies for highly sensitive kids

  • Personal grief and loss when you can't participate in "normal" family experiences

  • According to the psychologist who coined the term “the highly sensitive child”, Dr. Elaine Aron, high sensitivity is quite common, occurring in approximately 15 to 20% of the population​.

    Highly sensitive children tend to react in extreme ways to subtle changes in sounds, smells, and temperature. They can also be intensely affected by the emotions of others​. While your child does not have to have a diagnosis for you to benefit from this group, some diagnoses that my indicate highly sensitive traits are: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive-compuslive disorder (OCD).

  • We create a safe non-judgmental space for parents to express themselves. Every week, parents and caregivers join our Zoom call to provide each other support and encouragement. You’ll receive the Zoom meeting link once you register.

  • Trained volunteers will facilitate this group. Parents can join at any time and are welcome to attend as many groups as they want. Usually there are between 6 and 16 parents in a group meeting.

  • Our groups are free, confidential, and open to any caregiver. Our goal is to create a safe space where group members share experiences about parenting, learn to cope with things they cannot change and figure out how to change the things they can.
